Stolen?

My cute neighbor started a writing blog a month or so ago. She is attempting to write one funny story every day for the entire year. Stories about her everyday life and of those around her. It's cool and quirky and funny. So that got me thinking... Even though I don't consider myself a writer - i do love to tell stories. So why not start telling more of my everyday adventures...

Enter yesterday...

I went running errands with a friend. We had stopped in one store and were trying on clothes at the second store. We then headed off to a third store...when my heart stopped as a realized I didn't have my purse!!!! You know that vulnerable and sinking feeling
you can get from such things.
I thought for sure I had left it in the changing room. We quickly turned around and I jogged into the store in frantic mode. I checked the room I had been in.... NOTHING!!! I asked the ladies putting garments back on racks and they said they hadn't seen anything. There was a pit in the bottom of my stomach. This wasn't exactly a high-end store and I really could see someone running off with it. I carefully retraced my steps - then talked with a manager to make sure it still hadn't been located. Then suddenly I spied a lady pushing a cart with my very same exact purse. I don't mean a look-a-like purse - but my EXACT purse.
She didn't look suspicious - but that was just too weird of a coincidence. I didn't want to do it...but I had to. "Ma'am is that YOUR purse? I just lost mine and it's that exact purse" At first I think she thought I was kidding. Who is this odd lady accusing her of stealing. I knew she thought I was CRAZY! "Do you mind if I look inside, I know this is weird - but I just lost it and it is your exact same purse" She kindly showed her accuser in contents of her purse. I really was mortified. I left the store with hopelessness. Not that there was a bunch of cash stashed in my wallet - but just the idea of having to call my credit card company, replacing my driver's license, and that purse was new and super cute!

Well, much to my delight they called me 5 minutes later and said the purse had been recovered. Was is really that lady -and she felt guilty? Guess I'll never know - just glad to have my purdy purse back safe and sound.
